Day at the Farm

By: Amy M. with

Taking a step away from city life is just around the corner at the Country Critters Farm!   With only a short drive out of the metroplex, you are able to step into the peaceful fun of country life!  The Country Critters Farm has a specialty pumpkin patch for the fall season, but did you know this farm is open all year long?!  You can enjoy the duck races, farm animals, and bounce houses to your heart’s content every season, woohoo!

Pumpkin Patch!

The excitement began to build as the houses became fewer and farther between taking us into the country setting; we pulled up to the gate with warm greeting of smiling scarecrows and pumpkins.  The pumpkin patch offers many photo opportunities stacked with hay bales covered with multi color pumpkins, gourds, or scarecrow backdrops!  With every paid admission your child gets to pick out a pumpkin not just a tiny hand size pumpkin, one as big as a your child’s head!  Very impressive!  There are also pumpkins to buy of all sizes for great prices, so don’t forget to stock up!

Activities Galore!

There is full day of amusement to be had, starting with the duck races, you pull down and up on the water pump to watch the water flow pushing your rubber duck to victory down the lanes!  We’ve never seen this racing before and it was awesome, the kids were super into it as there were 4 courses to choose from!  Then we continued to the train play set, the 30+ animal petting zoo, the hay ride, the tractor pull, wowzer those are good times!  The pony rides were an especially huge hit as this is a unique feature as most farms do not offer this activity and with the unlimited wrist band you can ride over and over again!  The farm activities are spread out over many country acres making it easy to enjoy and not feel crowded, an amazing set up for optimal family fun!

Don’t want to Leave!

After spending over 3 hours on the farm, it was so hard to leave!  We enjoyed the beauty of the country views, all of the animals, and the excellent activities!  The Country Critters Farm is a must do stop for the fall to enjoy the pumpkin patch and décor, but if you can’t make it this season the farm is open all year long ready for your family to make the wonderful memories to be had!  We can’t wait to come back again!

Tips:  The unlimited activity wrist band is a great value for only $5!  You’ll be able to ride the ponies, hay ride, and tractor pull over and over!  There are also reasonably priced concessions from hot dogs to drinks to homemade pumpkin bread, yum yum!
