Finding a craft to do for my daughter and I is not very simple, I am a Pinterest fail on most every craft if it gets too complicated! Why I loved doing this craft is that I can use my basic stock craft box and just add a couple of things to make an awesome holiday craft. This week, we made a holiday wreath using our extra bows from last year’s Christmas stock, check out the end of the “How To” for extra ways to save on this holiday wreath craft.
What is my “stock craft box?” My stock craft box is a combination of items I keep at our house to begin a craft or do a craft in its in entirety. Craft box contents: glue, scissors, tape, poster board, markers, crayons, individual mini paint, paint brushes, pens, and pencils.
How to Make a Holiday Wreath Craft
· Poster board
· 25 Holiday Bows
Start with using the poster board and scissors by cutting a large circle and then a smaller circle within the larger circle; this will be the base of your wreath. Then use the glue to secure bows all over the circle poster board, I did one to visualize and then my daughter was able to do the rest herself. Let dry and be impressed with your new holiday wreath!
Tip: If you don’t have poster board, that’s ok, use a cardboard box or any sturdy material for the base of your bows. Also, if you don’t have or want your child to use glue, some bows come with sticky on the back and you can forgo the glue. I used bows with sticky backing and left the backing on, reason is, just in case the glue separates later on I can have a quick fix and use the sticky on the back then.
